alright, let’s go world tour from seattle to wherever you are the storm’s here but this time this time, i’m the storm i'm feelin’ the feedback blues, can’t stick around no more and i just wanna ramble, can’t stick around no more i gotta tour the whole world like a wanderin’ troubadour i feel like i'm flickerin’, babe, i got somewhere else to be it’s not that i don’t wanna be around you, i just got somewhere else to be so you best not worry, and don’t think about me i went to philly, and north to halifax but i was missin’ seattle, so i came wanderin’ back i guess i needed you, babe, i needed to run back home but there’s somethin’ about bein’ on the road, that makes feel less alone i went to charleston before the devil got me woke up in san francisco, but i had somewhere else to be i guess i'm the ramblin’ type, movin’ from show to show wherever the weather takes me, wherever the winds may blow i'll be on island time, if you wanna followin’ me i might stop by yellowstone, if you wanna keep followin’ me or you can meet me in the core, if you’re lucky, that’s where i'll be now i'm back home you wanna keep me to yourself and i'm feelin’ so restless, but you wanna keep me to yourself i guess my tour is over, i'm just a trophy on your shelf i’m feelin’ the feedback blues, can’t ramble ‘round no more and i just wanna get out, can’t ramble ‘round no more i wanna tour the world, like a wanderin’ troubadour and one day i’ll break free and you’ll try to reform me but you can’t do that i’ve got a world tour to go on

Never thought I’d miss the suns crackin’ down like whips, That sting that burns just like defeat, But now I’d lose a thousand times and never give no lip, To claim that sunny mound for just a beat Now I sing with the coyotes, looking up at pitch-black skies, As I pick out yet another sober tune, Have the stars all given up? Why’d everything go so awry? I’ll wait for answers, howling at twin moons Was it that trainrobbing? Why was I cast aside? Was I not ladylike enough? Did I pick myself up when I should've up and died? Can't help being a diamond in the rough Now I sing with the coyotes, looking up at pitch-black skies, As I pick out yet another sober tune, Have the stars all given up? Why’d everything go so awry? I’ll wait for answers, howling at twin moons There was a time I asked for shade and a place to hang my hat, When I had a glossy household name, But now I’m pleading for a second chance and a lousy bat, Can’t take it here, I’d rather taunt the flames Now I sing with the coyotes, looking up at pitch-black skies, As I pick out yet another sober tune, Have the stars all given up? Why’d everything go so awry? I’ll wait for answers, howling at twin moons

double play 05:06
i once was a rookie all bright-eyed and green now i'm a veteran, grizzled and mean but i'll still play my way right through inning sixteen i guess that's why they keep me around bring the fielders in wipe the slate clean sound the organ, baby top of thirteen everyone is tired everyone but me it’s the dead of darkest night i feel free one solid single got my man on first for a right-handed rookie he’s not the worst if i play my cards right i’ll be a king i swing to live and i live for the swing grit my teeth and raise my elbow high it’s just the universe, the ball and i tomorrow's another morning on another beautiful day and i hit into a double play ground out up the middle he never stood a chance on the long way back he tries to kill me with a glance nobody reads the stats, kid what the hell is OPS you and i know what matters is i tried my best sure, my average now is .113 what do you want from a one-star player on a two-star team you’ve gotta know when to run and know when to walk away and when to hit into a double play double play, double play live to fight another day when you wanna get the inning over and done cause i swing and miss mama said there’d be days like this and i guess there will always be another one planet earth is just a ball and it is hurtling through space it doesn’t curve or break or fall but it’ll knock the nose right off your face and if i don’t see or hear it then i will never fear it i’ll be in the lineup till i’m old and gray another lifetime and a double play double play, double play live to fight another day when you wanna get the inning over and done cause i swing and miss mama said there’d be days like this and i guess there will always be another one (x2) i guess there will always be i guess there'll always be i guess there will always be another one

VERSE 1 JH: Well, You were everybody's boyfriend I was everybody's fear Now I'm in everybody's clubhouse Drinking everybody's beer 'Cause I threw, and I threw you away, and I knew you were gone BF: Now I'm down here in the hall When i saw you saunter in And i watched your face fall From that peanut-eating grin 'Cause you knew that I knew that you knew how bad you'd done me wrong PRECHORUS BF: And now you're here asking me for one final chance JH: Bad times are near and I promise we're allies of circumstance But I need you tonight BF (spoken): Look, CHORUS 2x: We had a season We had a year BF: between when i died JH: and i reappeared 2x: we had every ability but we never found stability I had my reasons I had my fears BF: I thought we tried JH: I saw the tears in your eyes when I lied BF: I thought you'd be my bride... VERSE 2 BF: When you made a mix tape showin' where your heart was at And I took that cassette down to the laundromat And the driers there were thumping time Punctuating every rhyme 'til the end of Side A when the Walkman snapped your voice away JH: each time that i snapped should've been the last one I said i'd change, but i threw you a fast one My arm flew, and i knew you couldn't stay And I watched your face burn the last time you turned away PRECHORUS 2x: And now we're here, there's only one place left to go It feels so queer, and I know this is our final rodeo BF: and it isn't right JH: but still, CHORUS 2x: we had a season, we had a year BF: between when i died JH: and i reappeared BF: it turns out your fragility was just a big liability 2x: i had my reasons i had my fears JH: i had my pride BF: i had those tears in my eyes as i died JH: i never cried 'til i saw you... BRIDGE 2x: down here in the hall, where you never see the sun And I want to play ball, and the game is far from won And we won't know the score til the game is said and done But I think this last fight is gonna be our final one CHORUS 2x: We had a season We had a year BF: between when i died JH: and i reappeared 2x: All that's left is futility It's too late for stability I had my reasons I had my fears BF: I'll let things slide 2x: I know the tears in your eyes haven't dried JH: I'll swallow my pride 2x (slower): Tonight I need you right here Attachments area

dead ringer 03:26
They put me in the ground on Sunday Shoved my bones in the dirt The fire had burned my flesh away I suppose it could have been worse They shared their sorrows, wept and then they walked away How were they to know I wouldn’t stay I blinked my eyes open on a fine September morn From the first breath in my lungs I knew I was reborn I saw the crowd that came to raise me from my grave I returned, but my soul was not saved My skin is made of energy, my blood is made of fire I am what will happen when your best laid plans backfire And I swear to you I do not mean the things I do I’m a phoenix from the flame and soon you’ll all be burning too They put me in my uniform and shoved me on the field The score to settle was my sword, the cheering was my shield I heard a voice, heard someone whispering in my head Take them down, or soon you’ll rejoin the dead The cowhide left my fingers like a bullet from a gun When it hit, my heart grew heavy, I knew what I’d done The target on their backs soon set them all alight I only wish that I could burn so bright My skin is made of energy, my blood is made of fire I am what will happen when your best laid plans backfire And I swear to you I do not mean the things I do I’m a phoenix from the flame and soon you’ll all be burning too I never wanted it to be this way But there’s a debt in me I must repay You all suffered to resurrect me Was I worth trial by necromancy? There’s a lesson here that I know well When you raise the dead you’re raising hell My skin is made of energy, my blood is made of fire I am what will happen when your best laid plans backfire And I swear to you I do not mean the things I do I want to stop the firestorm I want to start anew My debt has been refinanced and since I have burned no more Now I’m forced to wander until I’ve settled the score Someday I will sleep, the gods my soul to keep And pray that I never again emerge from six feet deep

I remember that day Just like it was yesterday Was it only weeks ago? We went to that funeral We heard the will And tears were spilled While we divvied up the bones, They barred the doors On the Sunbeams Court And if they call you to the stand I will be right there, holding your hand In the Hellmouth there's no wrong or right So just take my hand, and hold on tight And we might survive this court tonight We stood accused Our crimes could not be excused: We'd no remorse For our part in the Bonecourse We'd killed our Captain We'd let it happen I think we knew right then we could never win, Judged by our Sins So when they call you to the stand I will be right there, holding your hand In the Hellmouth there's no wrong or right So just take my hand, and hold on tight And we might survive this court tonight The defense did their best Our innocence they professed But then the judge was on the stand And then somehow, Sunman (Sunman?!) We'd hoped justice would prevail But it'd long gone off the rails Time bleeding away, had to speak my heart Before we were torn apart Well I said what I said and I meant it Disrupting the court was never what I intended But seeing you there on the stand with your hand extended.. I had to be by your side Even as all hope for mercy died I was finally freed From that ol' ring of greed Too little too late They'd sealed our fate With your hand in mine, our last farewell We were Guilty as Hell And I remember that terrible sound When the Executioner's axe came down Those puppetmasters had their day in court, They'd pulled their strings and we'd come up short But in the Hellmouth there's no wrong or right So just take my hand, and hold on tight In the light of the sun so brutal and bright This court's on fire, but here I stand Just you and me, holding hands Anyone could see, the whole trial was a sham But what's real, is us, holding hands

we’ve got old, broke souls with debt to pay we’re a piecemeal whole picking up orphans and strays and i know the coin gives and it takes away but oh, sure is wimdy today we’re a burned out bunch hollow and grey and love ain’t enough to keep the darkness at bay and i know the coin moves in mysterious ways but oh, sure is wimdy today

we all know what’s coming on the wind nobody can stop the tide from coming in the sharks in the water are swimming up for blood but who they’re after is yet to be seen maybe i can be the chum who takes one for the team i’ll be the best they’ve ever seen i’m gonna lure them all away i’ll be the hero of the day you brought me back for god knows what i still can’t figure out if i’m meant for this story or if i should find another one i know i’m weighing down the team and now there’s water to our knees and i attract attention but the kind that we don’t need and the only way that’s forward is the one where i leave everyone i meet gets a piece of me they meet a reflection of the people they’ve already seen i’ve gotten used to the idea of being perceived in a way that takes more than what i receive in return, so now i’m the chum who takes one for the team i’ll be the best they’ve ever seen i’m gonna lure them all away i’ll be the hero of the day you brought me back for god knows what i still can’t figure out if i’m meant for this story or if i should find another one i know i’m weighing down the team and now there’s water to our knees and i attract attention but the kind that we don’t need and the only way that’s forward is the one where i leave i hear new york might have work for me the empire state might have the city of my dreams i’m gonna lure them all away i’ll be the hero of the day you brought me back for god knows what i’m gonna lure them all away i’ll be the hero of the day you brought me back for god knows what i still can’t figure out if i’m meant for this story or if i should find another one i know i’m weighing down the team and now there’s water to our knees and i attract attention but the kind that we don’t need and the only way that’s forward is the one where i leave

I was walking down the field another day another ballgame our new pitcher on the mound: (now pitching for the seattle garages) chorby soul when along came a horde of sharks with teeth so sharp they could cut right through our bats ready to consume and take away all of our stats oh no oh no look down below oh consumers are coming and they're coming for our soul you better hope your skin is thick enough or they'll swallow you whole oh no oh no look down below oh consumers are coming and they're coming for us all you better hope your skin is thick enough or they'll swallow you whole (killer harmonica solo) and as the killer fish attacked I held onto my cowboy hat and jumped from nose to nose between two bites the league's most gracious acrobat but as I grabbed poor chorby soul from the jaws of defeat I felt the teeth of an aquatic beast wrapped around my feet oh no oh nooooo look down below oh consumers are coming and they're coming for our soul you better hope your skin is thick enough or they'll swallow you whole oh no oh no look down below oh consumers are coming and they're coming for us all you better hope your skin is thick enough or they'll swallow you whole
